Demetz creates light children's sunglasses that youngsters aged three to six love. The sunglasses are made from bio-based injection-moulded material that respects the planet and kids' eyes. The soft arms of the Demetz sunglasses guarantee optimal comfort. Each pair of sunglasses comes with a removable and adjustable strap and the Smart-Fix fastening system. The French brand originally specialised in prescription sunglasses for sports from 1950. The first products were outdoor and mountain sports glasses. In 1953, company founder Roger Demetz developed the first prescription glasses. He was a professional diver himself and expanded the brand over the decades. Among other things, he offered sports glasses for corrective lenses, which were eventually used in almost every sport. Sunglasses are often in demand, for example for skiing and mountain hiking. For a long length of time, the entrepreneur focussed strongly on diving, which experienced a rapid upswing from the 1950s onwards due to tank diving and for which Demetz also developed the world's first optical diving mask in 1951, which he had patented in 1957. Diving pioneers such as Hans Haas and Jacques Cousteau utilised this invention. In 1968, the company produced the first optical swimming goggles. The founder's son Gilles expanded the Parisian sports eyewear company „Demetz Sport optique“ from 1988 with international distribution. From then on, he focussed on expanding the range to include sunglasses for kids, made of durable and very flexible plastic and rubber. Children's sunglasses offer 100% uv protection. The shades can correspond to categories 2 or 3.
