Tent: your comfortable base camp

An overnight stay in the great outdoors or on a campsite is wonderful for all outdoor fans. Depending on whether you are travelling alone, as a couple or with the whole family, there are suitable tent sizes. You also have a wide choice of shapes from dome tents, tunnel tents and tipi tents, as well as open tarp tents, wind protection tents for the beach and flysheets.

Simply choose the model that best suits your needs from Transa's diverse range of tents. For example, a 1-person tent (one-man tent) for you alone or a 5-person tent for the whole family.

Tent: stable, weatherproof and easy to set up

To ensure that a tent (e.g. dome tent, expedition tent) lasts a long time when camping and protects you from wind, moisture and cold, it must have various features clothing. When buying a tent, pay attention to the following criteria.

You can recognise a good tent by the following features:

  • It is very quick and easy to pitch, even in windy conditions.
  • The tent poles are included in the scope of delivery. They are light, but also extremely robust - for a secure stand in any weather.
  • The tent material is water-repellent, windproof and dirt-repellent. A good model should have a water column of at least 5500 millimetres.
  • The higher the water column, the longer the camping tent can withstand heavy rain. The water column of the tent floor should be significantly higher, as moisture from below is particularly unpleasant. Good tent floors have a water column of around 20000 millimetres.
  • Depending on the size, there is room for one or more people inside. A large camping tent is usually divided into different inner cabins. In this way, the sleeping area and lounge area can be separated from each other.
  • A mosquito net provides effective protection against insects and can even be essential for survival in some regions or protect against serious illnesses (e.g. dengue fever or malaria).
  • Tear-resistant guy ropes secure the camping tent even in strong winds. Practical inside pockets make it easier to keep small items organised.
  • There are also tent shapes that are used as wind protection, rain protection and sunshade for the beach, garden or pool, such as the beach or tarp tent.

Choosing the right camping tent

Before you decide on a particular tent, you should consider how many people will be staying in it on a regular basis. Whether for one, two, three, four or six people - at Transa you will find all sizes and even huge models in which up to eight people can sleep at the same time. Your comfort requirements are also important when making your choice. Do you want an emergency shelter for one night only or a comfortable camping tents for a two-week stay at the campsite? Depending on the time of year and the region you are travelling in, it must also meet certain requirements. Waterproof, winter-proof and sandproof are just a few of the features that a tent can offer.
