About GORE Wear

Gore Wear is a subsidiary of the global company founded in the USA in 1958. The company's impressive history of innovation began in 1957 when Bob Gore, a sophomore at the University of Delaware, suggested the use of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) tape to insulate wires. Research by Bill Gore showed that the tape offered significant advantages over previous insulation methods. From the company's humble beginnings in Bill and Vieve Gore's basement at home to the international corporation it is today with product development and manufacturing. It's an exciting and unique company story: Gore's history illustrates how the combination of ingenuity, commitment and initiative lays the foundation for groundbreaking products. Gore Wear has been developing and producing premium running and cycling apparel since the early 1990s. Gore Wear is made for the ambitious athlete. The materials developed by Gore are at the heart of every area. Whether the Gore membrane is used in rainproof jackets and trousers or the Windstopper membrane in shirts, jerseys and accessories, Gore always uses the right material. For the design, cut and future, Gore worked together with X-Technology according to the principle of specialists for perfectionists.

GORE WEAR® Outfit Systems use the integration of two basic concepts: The Head-To-Toe concept and the Skin-To-Shell concept. The Head-To-Toe concept ensures that the parts of the body that play a special role in sweat production, heat loss or extreme temperature fluctuations are specially protected: In other words, the head, hands and feet. The second important part is the skin-to-shell concept, the so-called 'layer principle'. This creates a comfortable micro-climate that supports the body in the natural regulation of body temperature during a wide range of physical activities and changing weather conditions. In short: GORE WEAR® Outfit Systems allow you to do what you love: sports, whatever the weather.
