About Green Oil

Green Oil is a small English family business based in Bromley, Kent, founded in 2007 by Simon Nash, a keen biker and environmental protectionist; while studying at the University of Southampton, he developed an organic chain oil made from natural components and without toxic additives. Simon's motivation was and is to develop a biodegradable chain lubricant that works very well without PTFE or fossil raw materials. So he started in a small log cabin and filled the first bottles by hand using a beer tap. Conventional chain oils, made from fossil raw materials or with PTFE as an additive, pollute the environment through their degradation and are only available in limited quantities, and they also get into the ground when cleaning or riding in the rain, where they pollute the soil. PTFE is a polyfluorinated chemical that accumulates in the environment and in human body tissue and is not degraded. Green Oil and the cleaning agents Green Clean and Clean Chain are made exclusively from a mixture of over 20 naturally occurring plant extracts (e.g. citrus extracts, coconut oil, etc.) and are therefore 100% biodegradable. However, the absence of any questionable ingredients is not at the expense of the effect, as proven by s and user experience. Green Oil products have since been awarded many ecological prizes, such as the BikeBiz Award 2010, the Green Apple Award 2012 or the Guardian's final nomination for the Sustainable Business Award 2014, and can now be found in many bike stores.
