Kovea

Few people may know Kovea at first, but the company's components are behind some well-known brands such as Snow Peak, Cascade Designs or Edelrid. Kovea is one of the largest designers and manufacturers of camping stoves and gas equipment. Kovea produces more than one million portable gas appliances a year, including 300,000 camping stoves. In its home country of South Korea, as well as in Japan, Australia and New Zealand, the Kovea name is widely known and the company is the market leader in many segments.

Kovea was founded in 1982 by a Korean mountain sportsman and engineer who saw the need for special cooking stoves and outdoor equipment for extreme conditions during his expeditions in the Himalayas and Karakoram. The company grew with the production and sale of liquid fuel stoves as well as gas canisters and adapter technology in the Korean home market. In 1997, the company Kovea Co Ltd was founded. The company also runs Korea's largest outdoor retail chain "Vision Korea". The company has invested heavily in research and development in order to continuously develop and improve its products. For example, Kovea launched a refillable gas stove that does not require gas cartridges. In addition to cooking stoves, Kovea's range also includes advanced and light backpacks, lanterns, tents, sleeping bags, trekking poles and crampons.
