About Muc-Off

The Muc-Off brand stands for activity: on the mountain, trail or in the skate park, the main thing is outdoors. The company specializes in everything that keeps your favorite toy on two wheels fit for as long as possible: Bike care products such as bike cleaner, chain cleaner or brake cleaner. It all began in 1991, when downhill was still a fringe sport. Most riders cleaned their bikes with conventional detergents, which contained a lot of salt. However, salt and water encourage corrosion and this damages the beloved sports equipment. In addition, Rex, one of the founders, was frustrated by the enormous amount of time he was wasting on meticulous cleaning and polishing. Obsessed with detail, he wanted to understand the properties of every material and surface and clean them as gently as possible. So, together with Marilyn Trimnell, he founded X-Lite UK. Their cleaning spray from the pink bottle soon became a secret weapon. In 1995, the long partnership with downhill legend Steve Peat began. In 2000, Muc-Off conquered a new, only logical market: care products for motocross; after all, the two sports share an addiction to adrenaline. In 2003, Muc-Off made the leap from two to four wheels: Muc-Off Car Care. In 2008, the company launched the first biodegradable, environmentally friendly bike cleaner. In 2010, Muc-Off was already involved in Formula 1 as the official supplier to Sahara Force India. In 2014, a partnership began with Team Sky, with whom Muc-Off developed and launched products, and in 2015 the partnership with Atherton Racing, one of the largest downhill teams. Today, Muc-Off is one of the most popular brands for riders and racers on the scene. The range has been expanded to include a whole range of products to care for your favorite bikes, but pink is still the Muc-Off trademark. The products are precisely matched to the surfaces, clean effectively and protect the components. Muc-Off also supplies the appropriate accessories, such as swimming sponges, which reach the furthest corners. For all those who like it quick and convenient, the company offers cleaning kits that contain all the necessary products and accessories. The ideas for new products still come from the company's own research and development department, led by Rex's son Alex, who everyone calls the "Mad Developer". Testing is carried out in-house and by the pro team, and only the best is ultimately brought to market.
