About Primus

The Swedish company PRIMUS was founded in 1892, making it one of the oldest manufacturers of outdoor equipment in the world. Fridtjof Nansen, Roald Amundsen, who reached the South Pole in 1911, and Sir Edmund Hillary, who was one of the first to climb Mount Everest on May 29, 1953, all used PRIMUS stoves on their expeditions. PRIMUS products - cooking stoves, gas lanterns, tableware and, more recently, LED headlamps - are still regarded as the most innovative and highest quality in the world. PRIMUS AB, based in Solna, Sweden, is an independently operating subsidiary of the listed company Fenix Outdoor AB. PRIMUS sells in over 80 countries worldwide. The aim and inseparable part of product development at Primus is to constantly expand the range with innovative products that are characterized by low fuel consumption and high service life. They introduced their first cooking stove with Eta technology back in 2007. This is a cooking system in which the power of the burner is optimized for the size of the pot. The pots themselves have a heat exchanger at the bottom and the whole thing is housed in an encapsulated system with an integrated windbreak. Conventional cooking stoves achieve an efficiency of 40 to 50 percent. This means that more than half of the energy contained in the fuels escapes into the environment. Nothing but hot air! Stoves with Eta technology, on the other hand, achieve an efficiency of around 80 percent. With accessories such as pot sets, cutlery and thermos flasks, the Primus range has been expanded to make cooking fun for every nature lover on hiking tours or camping vacations.
