About Scrubba

If Ash Newland had not set off on a trip to Kilimanjaro in 2010, the Scrubba wash bag would probably not exist. Because Ash is a patent attorney. However, he had had enough of his job and took a break for several months. During this time, he traveled to Africa with a buddy, with the summit of Kilimanjaro as his goal. During the planning, they both realized that they could only take a small amount of luggage with them and still needed to be equipped for all weathers. "How will we wash our dresses on the way?" This question preoccupied them both. Nash had the revelation of building a highly flexible washboard into a waterproof, sealable bag, revolutionizing the way people wash clothes when they travel. Shortly before leaving for Africa, they had built a few prototypes. They came with them in their luggage. The bags had their first activity in Moshi in Tanzania. They passed the test and the product was validated, but was still a long way from being launched on the market. At the end of 2011, Ash Newland decided to give up his job at the large patent law firm and focus on getting the Scrubba wash bag ready for the market. The company Calibre8 Pty Ltd. was founded. On the crowdfunding platform IndieGoGo, the wash bag outgrew its baby shoes and took its first steps on the market. The boys were looking for capital of 2,500 dollars and received 22,525 dollars. Overwhelming! Nobody had expected this order volume and there were some sleepless nights. In June 2012, the supporters held their first Scrubba wash bag in their hands and the pre-orders were fulfilled. In addition to the early adopters of the crowdfunding project, the product received a lot of media support, including Forbes Magazine, Lonely Planet, Buzzfeed, Gizmag and many of the major newspapers in the US, UK and Australia covered the innovation. To date, Calibre8 has expanded its warehousing to multiple countries to provide fast shipping options around the world. Originally designed for backpackers, the Scrubba wash bag is also great for cleaning clothes of vacationers, business travelers, campers, cyclists, kayakers or travelers. You can avoid laundry costs in hotels or searching for laundromats, avoid potential hygiene problems when washing in the sink, use less water or simply have the freedom to do your wool wherever you want - Scrubba wash bags provide good arguments for every moment of your life.
