About True Utility

Make it small. Make it useful. Make it work. The True Utility brand was born from this idea in 2000. The combination of ingenuity and passion for all things small and versatile led Lee Berman to develop products that are as small and useful as possible. Lee Berman was and is an avid traveler. His first multi-tool was a 45-seater vintage bus, which he transformed into a mobile hostel. It featured tennisbags with seats that could be folded into beds and all kinds of camping equipment. Berman loves minimalism. That's why he eventually found the bus too cumbersome. He parked his vehicle and set off on foot with his backpack on his back. At some point, even the backpack became too much for him. He decided to travel even more lightly. He packed a change of dresses, a notebook and a pocket knife into his sleeping bag and wrapped it over his shoulder with a belt. Light and liberating, that's how it felt for him when he was traveling with only the bare essentials. For Berman, being well prepared on the road doesn't necessarily mean carrying a lot. It means being strong in spirit so that you can find a solution in all situations. Today, True Utility products are sold in more than 50 countries and the ideas are protected by more than 27 international patents and 24 registered designs.
