About Uvex

Uvex Winter Holding GmbH und Co KG is a family business and is currently managed by the third generation. Uvex was founded in 1926 in a backyard shed in Fürth-Poppenteuth. The production of safety spectacles of all kinds began there, at that time still under the name Optische-Industrie-Anstalt Philipp M. Winter. The company soon expanded and moved its headquarters to the center of Fürth. In the 1960s, the then Managing Director Rainer Winter had only one goal: to make his brand the market leader in ski goggles. Since 1962, the company has borne the brand name Uvex, an acronym for Ultra-Violet-Excluded. Hundreds of employees in Fürth still produce the items known for their top quality. The attribute "Made in Germany" is held in high regard at Uvex with pride and conviction. Uvex researches and develops new materials and processes in Germany and is part of the company's PROTECTING PEOPLE philosophy - and it's not just the ski goggles that are known for their efficient protection and cool looks. The cycling and lifestyle goggles for young and old, which are part of the wide range of products, also correspond to the company philosophy in terms of function and design, as do the ultra-modern sports helmets. Decades of manufacturing expertise and ongoing investment in research and development enable Uvex to always meet the highest safety requirements and guarantee the highest level of comfort and durability. Uvex is characterized by the use of the highest quality materials and innovative manufacturing processes. The ongoing realization of new design ideas also makes Uvex a brand whose products want to be seen. As a result, Uvex has established itself as the first choice when it comes to sports protection. Whether it's helmets or glasses, the Uvex brand has stood out for decades thanks to the reliability and high quality standards of its products.
