About Tenaya

In 1997, José Luis García Gallego founded the climbing shoes manufacturer Tenaya in south-eastern Spain. José Luis himself has been an enthusiastic climber since childhood and has many first ascents to his name, for example in Yosemite. The connection to the climbing mecca in California is also the namesake for the brand. Tenaya is a lake in Yosemite National Park in the US state of California, which was named after the chief of the neighboring Ahwahnee (Ahwahneechee) tribe. Tenaya's credo is to produce climbing shoes that are specially designed to meet the high demands and needs of climbing enthusiasts. All of Tenaya's climbing shoes feature the company's own SXRDynamics system. The SXRDynamics system incorporates the biomechanics of the human foot. As a result, the voltage of the sole is transferred directly to the foot and supports the climber. Another advantage of the shoes is the use of a Vibram sole, which is known among climbers for its excellent grip, durability and abrasion resistance. Thanks to the soft sole, the shoes fit like a sock. This ensures great comfort, even if the shoe is shaped with a lot of downturn. All in all, Tenaya climbing shoes offer great value for money. Over the years, the brand's portfolio has been constantly expanded. Today, in addition to its climbing shoes, Tenaya also offers trekking shoes and approach shoes in its range.
