Sustainability at Transa

«For adventures that last longer»

That’s Transa’s philosophy. The right product for you and your adventure isn’t just high-quality and, by extension, durable – it’s made as sustainably as possible, too. We expect sustainability and durability from our manufacturers and suppliers, and we expect it from ourselves as well. That’s why our aim is to become a circular company.

We offer a repair and maintenance service, run our own second-hand platform, and you also can hire lots of products from us. In other words, we’re sustainable from both angles: we want the products we sell to have been produced under fair, sustainable conditions and scrutinise how our suppliers manufacture their wares as a result. But it’s just as important to us that the products people buy from our company are used for as long as possible and that we’re actively closing the loop.

Our vision of sustainability: Transa as a circular company

Illustration of the circular economy

Why is sustainability important to us? Anyone who spends as much time outdoors as you and Transa’s employees can see with their own eyes how the climate crisis is changing the world. That’s why Transa is aiming to become a circular company. But what exactly does that mean?

In a circular economy, materials and products are shared, reused, repaired and recycled for as long as possible. This extends their service life, so they remain in use and in the value chain for much longer. Waste is substantially reduced and resources saved, as new raw materials don’t keep having to be used in manufacturing. This is what living sustainably means.

We can’t do this on our own, though. That’s why we want to get you involved and offer an easy way for you to tap into the circular economy. These sustainable services are all already part of the circular economy – with more coming soon:

Sustainable products and supply chains

Transa doesn’t have its own brand of products, so we don’t have any direct influence over our suppliers’ manufacturing processes and supply chains. That leaves us all the more responsible for the brands and products we include in our range – and we put a great deal of thought into this.

It goes without saying that our procurement approach takes functionality and quality into account, but it also looks at sustainability-related aspects in the supply chain. They include the manufacturer’s social and environmental responsibility, elements regarding the circular economy, animal wellbeing and certificates and accreditations. We act in accordance with our Code of Conduct.

We want our range to be sustainable. As a result, we are keen for our brands’ efforts relating to fair production, environment protection and animal wellbeing to be visible. Our ‘sustainability check’, which you’ll spot on lots of products, identifies brands and products that are doing particularly well in these areas and that we’ve reviewed to ensure their sustainability standards are credible. By extension, this helps us to promote sustainability in the outdoor space and enables you to pick a more sustainable product.
