Patagonia's M's Retro Pile Vest is the perfect choice when your upper body needs a little extra warmth but you want to keep your arms free. This fleece vest is made from Polartec Shearling fleece, which is now 100% recycled polyester—offering the soft comfort that mountaineers and camping enthusiasts have appreciated for decades.

Thanks to its straight side seams and hip-length fit, the vest works well as a midlayer under a hardshell or as an outer layer over a flannel shirt. The full-length front zip ends at a high stand-up collar that protects your neck from the wind.

You can stow small items in the horizontal chest pocket or the two side bags, all of which feature zips and pull tabs. Elastic edging at the armholes, collar, and hem provides a clean finish. The vest is produced in a Fair Trade-certified facility.
