Climbing & bouldering with Transa - your equipment for rock, hall & block

Whether in the climbing gym, on the rock or when climbing & bouldering outdoors - every detail counts when climbing. At Transa, you'll find everything you need for your next vertical adventure: from high-quality climbing equipment and comfortable climbing shoes to the right bouldering equipment for your training or the next outdoor spot in Switzerland.

What is the difference between climbing & bouldering?

When climbing, you are on the move with a rope, harness and belay partner - either in the climbing gym or outside on the rock. It's usually higher up and safety comes first. You therefore need a climbing rope, harness, helmet and safety devices.

In bouldering, on the other hand, you climb shorter routes at jump height, i.e. without a rope, but with a crash pad as fall protection. The focus is on technique, strength and movement. Ideal for targeted training or simply having fun outside on the block.

What do you need for climbing & bouldering?

When bouldering, you don't need a rope - you need reliable bouldering shoes, chalk bags to keep your hands dry, climbing brushes to clean the holds and a robust crash pad as fall protection. In our range, you will find bouldering equipment from Black Diamond, Edelrid and YY Vertical, among others, which will support you safely and comfortably.

If you go climbing - whether indoors or outdoors on the rock - you need more equipment: a suitable climbing harness, a safe climbing rope, climbing helmets for protection, climbing safety devices and stable climbing slings. Brands such as Wild Country, DMM, Blue Ice and Scarpa stand for high quality and decades of experience in mountain sports. For ambitious alpinists, there is also specialized equipment for ice climbing and via ferrata sets to keep you safe even in icy conditions.

What should you look out for when choosing climbing equipment?

When buying your climbing equipment, it's not just safety that counts, but also comfort. A climbing harness should fit perfectly, your shoes should offer good support and your safety devices should match your rope strength. When bouldering, the damping of your crash pad and the fit of your shoes play a decisive role.

If you're just starting out, it's worth starting with solid basic equipment - later you can expand your set with special equipment, depending on whether you prefer indoor bouldering, sport climbing routes or traditional climbing.
