Explora is Switzerland’s largest and most important platform for live reports and presentations on adventure, travel, ethnology and expeditions. Unlike in cinemas or BBC documentaries, the Explora audience can meet the speakers personally at the event and is there live when famous adventurers tell their stories.

Some of the last hunter-gatherer societies on earth live in the rainforests of Southeast Asia. They have no leaders, no property, no gods and no past or future. Social researcher Khaled Hakami learns their language and experiences a culture shock that could not be more surprising, funny or astonishing. His multi-award-winning story shakes the very foundations of our values and beliefs.

For five long years, the team travelled to the last wilderness areas in Europe for this visually stunning multivision presentation. The filmmakers and photographers search for vultures and brown bears in northern Spain, discover the wondrous world of insects in an Austrian national park, accompany a free diver in the Mediterranean and follow a Romanian environmental activist who fights against the timber mafia. A tribute to our natural world.
Discovery Days 2024 in Flims
From 26 to 28 September
Nothing beats the power of a well-told story! The DISCOVERY DAYS present travellers, photographers, authors, explorers, filmmakers, journalists and researchers who bring their passion to the stage and screen with good stories. Storytellers who captivate our audience with their experiences because they report on the world and its inhabitants in an authentic, committed, creative, humorous and captivating way. All speakers have 30 minutes to do this, which guarantees an intensive and varied programme. At the end of the festival, the best presentations will be honoured by a jury.
