The Rise Above 88 W appeals to classic ski tourers as well as high-alpine ski mountaineers and altitude meter eaters. Very light and yet reasonably easy to use.
The Rise Above 88 W is based on the VTA 88, but has a new construction that makes the ski more modern and versatile. What stands out about the Rise Above 88 W is its extremely low weight, even though it has sidewalls. At just under 1.2 kg at 177 length, it is truly a lightweight, but with 88 mm underfoot and light tip rocker, it doesn't forget the downhill. You shouldn't expect miracles, but for 1.2 kg the Rise Above rides really well. If you like to ski at a moderate pace and know how to control a ski even in difficult conditions, the Rise Above 88 W is a very good choice. But even average skiers will be able to cope with it thanks to the short radius, the pleasant flex and the tip rocker in good snow conditions.
