An extremely warm down parka with very durable construction for uncompromising warmth in extreme cold.
The M Mission Down 4000 M Parka from Black Diamond is an expedition parka designed for the coldest activities in the mountains. It keeps you as warm as a sleeping bag and maintains warmth even in extreme temperatures—whether you’re belaying at a belay station, on alpine touring, or taking long breaks in the snow.
The isolation, made of goose down with a fill power of 800 cuin, offers an outstanding warmth-to-weight ratio and compresses down to a compact size. The outer shell, made of ultralight nylon ripstop, is reinforced with liquid crystal polymer (LCP), making it exceptionally durable; the PFC-free DWR coating protects against light precipitation.
The adjustable, insulated hood is climbing-helmet-compatible and keeps the cold out. A two-way front zip with an insulated wind flap facilitates access to the safety devices and keeps drafts out.
Two oversized zipped hand pockets, a chest pocket, and two internal slip pockets provide space for gloves, drinking bottles, and equipment. Drawcords at the hood and hem let you adjust the parka precisely to the conditions.
This makes the Mission Down 4000 M an uncompromising companion for the hardest days in the high mountains.
