The QuickDraw Microfilter from Playtypus is a practical, pump-free and light water filter with a 1.0 liter soft flask. All you have to do is suck on the mouthpiece and you can drink clean water. The hollow fiber filter removes 99 percent of bacteria and protozoa from the water. The filter should be replaced after 1,000 liters. A cap protects the mouthpiece and water filters from pollution. The filter can be easily cleaned by shaking it. It can filter up to three liters per minute. Alternatively, the water filter can be screwed onto a Platypus water bag and Smartwater bottles as well as many conventional PET bottles. The QuickDraw Microfilter really is extremely light, can be stowed away small and works very reliably, even over long lengths of time. However, this type of filter reaches its limits when the water is very contaminated due to civilization influences (no sewer system, strong agricultural use, industry). Perfect for thru-hikes and long-distance hikes.
